My experience of being part of the student council is one that I will never forget; it was a dream I had since I was little and now, it is real. I began my senior year with a lot of fear, because very soon I’ll be taking my first steps over a path called life, getting into university and choosing a career. Neither of these is an easy decision to make; however, with the time I have left in school, I wanted to do something special, and now I'm happy with being part of this special group: NAOKI.

It is a challenge I have to face, and for this reason, I am not only overcoming myself, but also trying to make Pachas, my second home, a better place. You almost always imagine senior year as the best year or your school life, where you would know if you are popular at school or just a nerd that passed his time in the library reading science books.... But it goes beyond that. It is the year where the future welcomes me, and the past is left on the desk of the hall. It’s where I finish learning and discovering my true friends. It's where all my memories and thoughts turn into gold for me. I will not forget my mistakes because thanks to them I have learned to live and to appreciate life; this is why I believe this year is the “real beginning”. We are diligently appreciating every last second with our friends, every last second of those football games, and dances. I hope that in this year with the student council I can do a little growing up to make memories and appreciate what I have before my life becomes completely altered. I challenge you to do the same. Even if you’re not in a similar situation, you can always take the time to appreciate what you have and make the world a little better.

I know there are a lot of skills I will learn with the student council, such as time management, public speaking skills and the power of persuasion. Moreover, above all, public speaking was really hard for me and I got over it, for this reason, this has been a learning experience full of many emotions. Finally, I just want to thank everyone for trusting me and my friends, because we want to make this year the best for all of you.
